The Story Behind iRiE PAPA: From a Gift to a Mission

The Spark: Irie Ira

My name is Ira. Back in high school, friends started calling me "Irie" — short for that laid-back, positive vibe — and it evolved into "Irie Ira." It was lighthearted, fun, and it simply stuck. Little did I know it would one day carry so much more meaning.

Years later, living in Los Angeles, married and on the cusp of fatherhood, everything shifted. When our first son was born, a close friend showed up with the perfect gift: a custom hat emblazoned with "iRiE PAPA."

"Before, you were just Irie," he said with a grin. "Now you're a papa. So you're iRiE PAPA."

That small gesture hit deep. The name captured the joy, responsibility, and transformation of becoming a father. It felt like destiny wrapped in creativity. In that instant, I knew this wasn't just a clever phrase — it was the seed of something bigger.

The Pause: A Deeper Calling

My business partner Aetam and I began exploring the brand idea, sketching designs and dreaming big. But life — beautiful, unpredictable life — pulled us in another direction. We embarked on a profound spiritual journey that required our full presence and energy.

The brand didn't die; it simply went into hibernation. We trusted the timing would reveal itself.

That pause stretched into a full decade.

The Revival: Purpose Redefined

Ten years later, I'm now a husband and father to four incredible boys. Those years weren't idle — they were transformative. Health and wellness moved from interest to cornerstone of our family life. We became intentional about everything: the food on our table, the products touching our skin, and — increasingly — the clothing we wear every day.

Clothing isn't just fabric. It sits against your largest organ — your skin — for hours at a time. Conventional materials often carry pesticides, dyes, and synthetic chemicals that can leach into the body over time. Once you're aware, the choice becomes obvious.

Why Organic Cotton Matters

Organic cotton is grown without harmful synthetic pesticides or fertilizers, it's gentler on us and the planet. The fabric breathes better, and aligns perfectly with the clean, conscious lifestyle we live and want to model for our children.

This isn't about perfection — it's about intention. About choosing better when we can.

Dadwear, Reimagined

Today, iRiE PAPA redefines dadwear for the modern father: effortless style that never compromises on health or quality. It's streetart-inspired, comfort meets real-life purpose — pieces designed for dads who want to feel good inside and out while showing up fully for their families.

From a high-school nickname, to a heartfelt gift celebrating first time fatherhood, to a brand reborn after a decade of growth, reflection, and raised standards — this is iRiE PAPA.

We're just getting started.

Welcome to the journey.
